Northwood Deaconess Health Center (NDHC) has been named a 2024 Bronze National Quality Award from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).
This program recognizes organizations that meet progressively rigorous standards of performance to improve the lives of residents and staff in long term and post-acute care.
NDHC’s Quality Assurance Manager Ann Gader led NDHC's application process with support from Clinical Services Manager Drew Johnson to coordinate interviews and collect information. NDHC is one of 525 skilled nursing facilities in the country to be recognized.
The application, which took about six months to complete, said Gader, was detailed and required information about performance measures, technology review, core competencies in relation to our mission/vision, residents’ key requirements and how we gained understanding of those, suppliers and business relationships, facility leadership, and more.
"This honor is humbling," said CEO Brock Sherva, "and is a recognition of the excellence our staff strives to reach each and every day with the care and comfort we provide our residents."
“The recognition of these facilities is a testament to their commitment to quality,” said ACHA/NCAL President & CEO, Mark Parkinson. “Their initial step on this journey is setting an inspiring benchmark for others in our profession.”
