NDHC therapist earns certification

Jenna Rosenquist, an occupational therapist at Northwood Deaconess Health Center

recently earned accreditation as a certified hand therapist (CHT) from the Hand Therapy Certification Commission.

The CHT designation is achieved through a combination of clinical experience, direct practice in hand therapy, and successful completion of a comprehensive skills and theory test in upper limb rehabilitation. Hand therapy treats conditions resulting from trauma, disease, or deformity.

Rosenquist, who has a master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of North Dakota, is one of 17 CHTs in North Dakota. She has 12 years of experience as an occupational therapist.

Anyone with an upper extremity injury or dysfunction from the shoulder down to the fingertips can benefit from specialized hand therapy, Rosenquist said. “I’m happy to be able to bring the benefits of this specialty to residents in the Northwood area.”

Hand therapy appointments require a referral from a health care provider. For more informat
